Status Update on COVID-19

The Governor of Illinois issued a “shelter in place” for the State of Illinois to begin Saturday, March 21 at 5pm. The order will be in place until April 7, 2020. At the time of this publication similar orders have been put into effect in California, New York, and Pennsylvania with other states looking to follow in the coming days. These are unprecedented times and circumstances and we urge everyone to take care of themselves and to aid in the curb of the COVID-19 virus by following all recommendations for your area and to do whatever you can to protect yourself and your loved ones. Please practice basic steps like washing your hands frequently and practice social distancing when, if you have to, go outside.

Are orders still shipping? Are you open?

For Tykables this means that every employee will be working from home with the exception of the owners who will be coming in to fulfill online orders. To be clear and direct we would not make any employee work in an environment if they were not safe and comfortable doing so. We have worked with each employee to ensure that they have the ability to be productive from home for the next few weeks. Currently all shipping companies are still picking up from us and delivering products to customers. Our retail store however will be closed to the public until April 7th. If you should need to pick up diapers same day, please call ahead so that we can arrange a curb side pick up at our store.

Inventory

We have several shipments in transit to Chicago right now. With our current shelter in place policy in Illinois we are unsure of how, or if, this will affect container movements at this time. Hopefully there will be little to no delay in movement for resupply and restocking of our healthcare products.

Community

Everyone that works at Tykables cares about each other and we care about the community. We have urged our employees and would urge you to follow all recommendations for your area and to do whatever you can to protect yourself and your loved ones. Please practice basic steps like washing your hands frequently and practice social distancing when, if you have to, go outside. Please focus on the positive things, call or text a friend and keep things upbeat. While the COVID-19 may spread, so too will a few kind and loving words from a friend. Take care of yourself, remind your friends and loved ones that you are thinking of them, and together we will all get through this. We are in difficult times and find ourselves in uncharted waters. Our best wishes to you and your family as we navigate the days ahead to a brighter future ahead together.

As things update we will post more on our blog, a newsletter, or social media.
